FRACTIONAL CFO · CONTROLLER · ADVISORY
A finance team you keep. Not a project you finish.
Fractional CFO and controller services for contractors and manufacturers — the monthly close, job and product costing, forecasting, and the lender-ready numbers that keep a growing company steady. Built for the long run, not the one-time fix.

WHO WE WORK WITH
Two industries where the books are never simple
Revenue arrives out of step with the costs that produced it. Margin lives at the job or the product line, not on the company P&L. Generic bookkeeping does not survive contact with either.
Construction
Commercial and residential contractors. Job costing, labor burden, change orders, retainage, and financials clean enough for bonding and lenders. Bid support when bids are actually due — evenings and weekends included.
Manufacturing
Costing that ties materials, labor, and overhead back to the product. Inventory control, quality systems, and the forecasting that tells you what the next run really costs before you commit to it.
WHAT WE DO
One firm, three ways in
Controller services
Your books, close, and payroll run every month by a QuickBooks ProAdvisor — reconciled, coded, and closed on schedule. The foundation everything else sits on, and the reason clients stay.
Fractional CFO
Forecasting, cash flow, pricing, and the banking relationship — a senior finance voice in the room for a fraction of a full-time hire. Thirty years across accounting, lending, and M&A.
Defined projects
Costing systems, software implementation, internal controls, tax planning, buy- or sell-side support. Scoped and priced up front. Most clients start here and move to a monthly engagement.
WHO WE ARE
The people behind it.
Baldwin Business Solutions is deliberately small. Sarah Baldwin, QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certified, runs controller work — the books, the close, payroll — and is who clients hear from month to month. Joe Baldwin brings thirty years across accounting, costing, operations, finance, and mergers and acquisitions to the CFO and advisory side.
Most accounting problems are not accounting problems. They are pricing, process, or cash-timing problems that show up in the books last. We are built to catch them earlier.
A note on taxes
We provide tax planning — structuring, timing, and strategy through the year so there are no surprises in the spring. We do not prepare tax returns, and we work alongside your preparer rather than replacing them.
We work when you work.
We have built bids on weekends and taken calls in the evening, because that is when the work happens. No charge for the first conversation, and no obligation after it.
